Have you tried using the USB wire instead of the Aux cablevision?

Howdy, I merely joined the forum. I realize that this response is almost a yr tardily, but this posting describes the same problem I'm having, so perhaps someone could help. After the usual troubleshooting (tried factory reset only tin can't access the menu for that, and then pulled fuse, disconnect battery) concluded up taking it to the dealer. They said the APIM module needs to exist replaced and wanted $yard bucks for that. I constitute the module in the machine under the glove box and pulled it out (moving picture fastened). The part number on this module is GE8T-14D212-AD and I found one on EBAY, but the last letter of the alphabet is a "C", non a "D" i.east. GE8T-14D212-Ac, all the other numbers friction match. Too, the EBAY posting says that it's for a Ford Ranger not a Fiesta. I'm sure Ford would use the same module on many of its cars and that the letter difference in the part number is probably just a revision number, but I thought I would ask the Forum for opinions every bit to compatibility. Thanks for your response.

I just establish out that the part on EBAY is from a 2016 Fiesta. Non sure if it will work on a 2017, merely for $50 bucks peradventure I'll take the chance.

I believe Fiestas got the Sync3 in 2016. Information technology should be uniform.

Tnx, I did the following. Chosen the dealer and asked for the FORD part number for a 2017 Fiesta which is GE8Z14D212B. I asked if that would piece of work on a 2016 Fiesta and they said that function will work on years 2016-2018. Since the Ebay part came from a 2016 it should piece of work on the 2017. I'll update this posting once I go the part and try it out.

I got my Sync module and installed it. Everything works, EXCEPT voice recognition. Here are the details:

-Removed the F10 fuse, installed the unit then put the fuse back in.
-Later on a bit of "hesitation" the SYNC screen came on looking for the phone of the previous owner
-I added my phone and am able to play music through Bluetooth. I can receive calls and answer them using the buttons on the steering bike
-When I try to brand a call using vox recognition, I can hear the message prompting me to make a call, just when I say "Punch...." it doesn't do anything, but sits there "listening"
-I tin can make calls using the keys on the dashboard, and the audio comes through Bluetooth (in and out)
-I tried manufacturing plant reset, ready the language, but not sure that actually did anything, because my phone was nonetheless in that location....and phonation recognition still didn't piece of work.

So it could be that the deviation between the "C" and the "D" in the part number is a unlike software version. I'one thousand going to have to play with this a bit more than. Anyhow I'm happy with what I got at a fraction of the cost that the dealer was going to charge me.

Did y'all go the unit consoled together with a Mic and Speaker? Speaker and Mic units are Divide. Just loom together

Thanks for your answer, only not certain what you mean. I only got the sync unit itself (as shown in the motion-picture show above). Information technology connects to the harness with a big 54 pin connector and a divide USB plug. The mic and speakers are already in the car and they work ok. When I identify a call from my phone I tin hear the other end and they can hear me. It's just the voice commands that do not work.

Handy Andy

Ok - that'due south what I needed to know. You did have the Mic and speaker already in.

The merely drawback is the level of volume - the SYNC operator, needs to hear. I am not certain if there is a physical rheostat adjustment to allow the SYNC vocalisation command module to bring up your vocalisation book so SYNC tin can even process the commands. (Think of this similar a Radio Show, they have y'all sit down in front end of a Microphone and they adapt levels so the listeners hear the room as a natural flowing conversation - everyone is on equal volume)

Is there a way to verify information technology's even hearing yous? I'm sad I don't know how to get to that menu, I'd love to know - they don't give Ford Owners much information to piece of work with in setting upwardly SYNC - they only assume either information technology hears and process or it is broken and information technology don't (or Won't).

It may be that SYNC needs to accept information technology'south ability to "Monitor" for voice commands - checked. If you tin proceeds access to the modules' listening side and make sensitivity adjustments to that level - so it can hear what you're asking, you may be onto something.

I'm only trying to help y'all troubleshoot - the situation you're in now, was similar with mine. I asked a lot of questions - including ones here in this thread - they, (Dealers) do non accept answers to - I got so frustrated with mine, I leave it off and but utilise the phone as per DOT guidelines.

I think you may be correct, could be that the input volume is too depression. When I endeavor to talk to information technology, information technology only sits there with the bulletin "Listening...." on the screen. If there is a mic sensitivity adjustment it has to exist through a carte du jour item or combination of steering wheel buttons. I opened up the onetime SYNC and there is no physical adjustment that can be fabricated on information technology.

2017 fiesta - with this stereo. My problem is that when I press the media button - the screen momentarily flashes a sync folder then dorsum to fm. phone buttons exercise not work - cannot access setup bill of fare to reset annihilation. Likewise the aux cord is non functional. Accept pulled fuses and bombardment. Any ideas would be helpful. TIA

I take the aforementioned problem as you.
I am from Romania and I accept been waiting for a yr to receive the module, at $ 1500, information technology hasn't arrived all the same
My module is GE8T-14D212-AC (exactly what you got)
Now I as well ordered it from Ebay for $ 100, information technology arrives in Jan 2021
Did you install the module, or were you at the service?
Did it accept a tester to put information technology back on?
Wait for response.
Thank you

Hi there. I replaced the module myself. It did non require whatsoever special equipment. I would recommend removing the fuse before plugging it in. When I first turned it on, it behaved as though the problem was still there (the screen momentarily flashes a sync folder and so back to fm), but this simply happened once, then information technology started to work, it was probably initializing. If it'south a used module it will probably all the same have the previous owner telephone in its retentivity and it will start looking for it. I only paired my phone and made it the default priority. Equally in my previous posting, everything works ok, merely I couldn't get voice commands to work. Unfortunately my daughter at present has the car, so it volition be a while earlier I tin play with it a bit more. Hope this helps.

Cheers so much for the aid!

Thanks guys. Above describes exactly the effect I'k having with my girl's Ford Fiesta 2016 (iPhone not SYNCing). I too had it diagnosed by Ford today (for $173) and received an judge of $950+ to accept it fixed with new part GE8T-14D212-AC
And so now I'm looking to detect such a part - I don't see whatsoever on eBay correct at present. New office alone is $595.

Wow - thanks for that.
It'south the exact part number (and others too mentioned) but the machine clarification is different - not Ford Fiesta 2016. I called them and the guy is going to remove part and see if it looks the same.
Thanks again @LionsTooth for posting.

LionsTooth

Permit's meet some pics & an introduction?.....since y'all are new here.

Did anyone ever try this out with the GE8T-14D212-AA?
